Coleman sues over Minnesota Senate recount – Decision ‘08- msnbc.com.
This one has to be a quickie, but I’ll update later.
This race has dragged on FAR TOO LONG!!! The best solution would be to just have everyone RE-VOTE!! That way, everyone can vote for the third guy who was a much better choice anyway, but hardly anyone knew about.
Norm Coleman says:
“Something greater than expediency is at stake here,” Coleman said. He added: “Democracy is not a machine. Sometimes it’s messy and inconvenient, and reaching the best conclusion is never quick because speed is not the first objective, fairness is.”
What??? Yes, fairness is the objective, butwhy does it HAVE to be messy and inconvenient? It COULD be convenient if you just REVOTE!! That would make everyone happy and this could all be over with in a few DAYS not a few months!!
And this isn’t exactly the candiates’ faults. It’s the government’s. Come on… look around you and follow their lead!
It could be so simple….
The costs of the election lawsuit fall to the losing campaign, although state law could require various units of government to foot the bill if their errors or irregularities lead to a reversal.
Yeah, smart…. real smart….

When no one else can do it, there’s only one man for the job…
Did you know?
The Humpty Dumpty rhyme used to be a riddle! It isn’t actually stated that he is an egg. But now everyone knows this, so it isn’t really a riddle anymore. =)

People are taking this politically correctness too far. Do you really think you need to please everybody if it means not not upholding your own values? If you have an opinion about something, we should be able to say it! So what if it offends someone? If that was your intent, go for it! If it wasn’t, apologize and tell the offended party you didn’t mean it in that way. That’s not so hard, is it??
This story is a good example of this. I understand that companies need to uphold their good image and make everyone happy, but to keep someone from saying “Merry Christmas?” Yes, an employee represents their company and the company might not want to be affiliated with that persons’ religion, but really…. use some common sense maybe. If you were a customer and you heard an employee tell you “Merry Christmas,” you should know better than to blame he company if it upset you. Heck, if the company is that picky, they could include something in their employee contracts stating that employees have to take responsibility for offending someone that way. The whole thing is just ridiculous.
The only reason someone says “Merry Christmas” is to spread holiday cheer! And to WISH someone a good holiday!
Now, speaking of ridiculous… [AKA, Why Target is Better Than Wal-Mart] A Wal-Mart greeter (maybe? that’s unclear) bought $1300 worth of $10 gift cards and handed them out to people in the store. Wal-Mart made him leave and said he was disrupting and soliciting. Um, what? Then apparently, he goes to Target, and they trade cards, and let him hand them out there! I mean, come on!! It’s free publicity and a good deed!! The whole point of Christmas is to give and be generous….
Here’s another example of a Good Samaritan being punished: A couple of friends are out for a few drinks, and they leave in separate cars. One of these cars gets into an accident, and a friend in another one of the cars stops to help. She pulls the victim out of the car to try to save her life. The victim ends up being paralyzed. How does she repay her rescuer? By suing her!! What?!?!? How does that even make sense?? ….
Another story I almost forgot about was one that I heard on the radio yesterday morning. A Minnesota soldier was driving home from a warmer part of the country with his wife who has never seen snow. I believe it was while they were stopped at a hotel one night that all of their Christmas presents were stolen from their car. This story just speaks for itself…. about the things that are wrong in this country….
Things aren’t all bad though. A couple of Secret Santas handed out $100 bills in Detroit where workers are affected by the auto industry and its lack of business. THIS is what we need to see more of….
Anyways, I had to share. I don’t care if you don’t really believe in Christmas. Some people are trying to “bring Christmas back” and center it on Jesus again. But really, I think Christmas only needs to be a time of giving. Regardless of your religion, lackthereof, or apathy, it should be a time to give back what you can to those around you. I LOVE giving people presents, even if I can’t really afford to. It’s fun! I wish I could do more, but “it’s the thought that counts!” It truly is. Even if all you do is make someone’s day brighter by helping them out, that’s giving too. And that is what Christmas should be about.
Back to my original point, if you want to say “Happy Holidays,” go for it, if you want to say “Merry Christmas,” that’s up to you. The point is to say SOMETHING to spread the joy that this time of year is really all about. It shouldn’t matter how you say it. (I prefer Merry Christmas, simply because it was my religion growing up, and I choose to celebrate THAT day. If you are not Christian, then I wish you a happy holiday!) I’m not going to stop wishing people a good Christmas simply because it offends SOME people. Those people just need to take it with a grain of salt and know that I’ just wishing them the best.
Anyways. Whatever your reason for celebrating, enjoy yourself and spend time with family and loved ones, and spread some cheer this season.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

*Lull*
I’ve been pretty busy the past few days! I moved from school back home for a esven week break (yay!). I started my job at the law firm on Friday. We’ve had guests at the house, I’ve been trying to finish Christmas presents, etc.!
Here is what I’ve been working on for my sister:

Just starting!
It’s not the best picture, but I’ll take a new one soon. I’m trying to get it done before Christmas… we’ll see how that goes. There’s also going to be a pair of gloves to go with it.
We had a family outing to the Mannheim Steamroller concert on Saturday.
It was really good!!! They are awesome. The encore was a little too rehearsed though, lol.
So that’s about it.
Merry Christmas!!
